The paper "Bluecat: A Local Uncertainty Estimator for Deterministic Simulations and Predictions" has been accepted for publication in Water Resources Research.

The Workshop "Novel hydrological concepts for the engineering practice" has taken place in Bologna on September 29, 2021. It has been organised to celebrate the degree Honoris Causa in Environmental Engineering that has been awarded by the University of Bologna to Günter Blöschl. The emergency due to COVID19 imposed a severe restriction to the number of attendants and therefore the audience was not large.

My presentation at the General Assembly of the European Geosciences Union titled: A brisk local uncertainty estimator for hydrologic simulations and predictions (Blue Cat) is available for download at the link below.

I would like to thank Demetris for conceiving an amazing idea. It is a simple and computationally efficient tool to estimate the probability distribution of hydrological predictions (and therefore assess their uncertainty) which works really well.

My presentation at the workshop "Management of environmental processes" titled "Floods and climate change" (in Italian) is available at the link below.

The workshop took place in Naples on February 25th, 2020. The Italian title of the workshop was: "La gestione dei fenomeni naturali: visioni complementari per il territorio. Il contributo della Geologia Applicata e dell’Idraulica" while the Italian title of my presentation was: "Alluvioni: tutta colpa dei cambiamenti climatici?".

The scientific paper: Probabilistic Hydrological Post-Processing at Scale: Why and How to Apply Machine-Learning Quantile Regression Algorithms, published on Water, is available open access at the link below.

The study focuses on the use of machine-learning quantile regression algorithms for probabilistic hydrological post-processing in order to derive uncertainty of hydrological simulations.
